3. Technical Requirements
We have made accessing the content EASY, so your technical skills in no way effect your ability to evolve.
All of the content is available online, so in order to enjoy this program, you'll need an Internet connection. You'll need a computer that can access the Internet and has speakers to listen to the audio and video content.
Avril especially uploads the content in a way, so you can download it to your computer directly. This means that if you have low latency or a slow internet connection, you can still enjoy the content with ease.
All of the multimedia content of the program is released in a software called Windows Media Player. We've chosen this because it allows you to download the smallest file sizes, saving on your Internet bandwidth. It is already installed on most pcs and it is able to be played on Macs, iphone, ipads etc with a little bit of tweaking. It's also a 100% free software. Click here to see if you already have it. If you hear a voice you do, if not just visit www.windowsmediaplayer.com once and download/install it. Then you'll have everything you need to access the entire class content.
You'll need to be using the latest version of your favourite browser (Google Crome (version 17 or above), Safari (version 5.1 or above), Mozilla (version 10 or above) or Internet Explorer (version 9 or above)). This will ensure the content of the course is really easy to view. Most computers update this automatically for you, but it is easy to see which web browser you have just look at the name of the program you use to surf the internet. If you go to the help menu and choose "About [name]" (whatever the name is of the web browser you're using is) you'll find the version number. You can always download the latest browsers here just to be sure.
Whether you're looking at the content of the module, leaving feedback in a forum, asking a question, searching for an answer or doing anything else in the program, the entire program is absolutely simple to use and designed for a range of users, from those with absolutely no technical experience to those who are quite savvy.
The only technical skill you require to use the program, is the ability to surf the internet and knowledge of how to save files to your computer (and find them again!). If you don't know how to do this, grab the nearest teenager for a five minute tutorial and you'll be up and running in no time!
